This course is a two-semester sequence that is designed to train students to write research proposals to obtain competitive grants in the social sciences and humanities. Students will be trained in the appropriate procedures for performing literature searches, identifying areas of investigation that would make for good research questions, and writing research proposals in each of the four substantive areas of cultural anthropology: archaeology; ethnography; linguistics; and prehistory.
